Social Media, Definition, History and Scholarship | Marketing
"Hi Brian, really interesting read! thanks for sharing your social media knowledge on Bloggertone. I think the most astounding thing in relation to SM is the numbers of people and the speed at which people are engaging. I think it's becoming increasingly hard to define social media as the tools and more importantly the way in which people are using them is constantly evolving. Cheers, Niall "How to create a brand? | Marketing
"Hi Bhuvan, "I believe your brand is an extension for your own personality" what a great way to look @ branding. I made many mistakes in the beginning with branding, I really wish I had read this post at the time. Small business particularly can be guilty of leaving branding till the last minute, unfortunately by this stage damage may have already been done. Thanks for sharing, Niall"4 Badges of Liberation from the Cult of Orthodox Business Doctrine | Sales
"Hi Gerry, I've always liked your style and attitude, it's great! I absolutely love the Bishops analogy "They don’t have a very favorable impression of the intelligence of their customers" You are incredibly right when you say that "They think that in order to win, someone else (i.e. their customers or competitors) has to lose" Great great post that people should read top to bottom. Thanks, Niall"10 Reasons for the “Disconnect” Between the Board and the Owners in Your Community Association | Management
"Hi John, great post! & great questions. Answer them well and you are well on your way to re-connecting. I think your point about the need for ongoing education is very well made. Thanks for sharing on Bloggertone & BizSugar. Warm Regards, Niall"Customer Loyalty – It’s all about CRM. | Management
"Hey Barney, congrats! another spanking #SugarTone entry - you are a busy bee :-) I am often asked to advise about CRM, for me CRM is about having information that makes having the relationship with customers/prospects better/easier. All too often, CRM is seen as as administration tool/task and this misses the point of what it was meant to do. By the way, there are some cool things happening around social CRM, it's a space carries big potential in my opinion. Great read! Niall"Beware of the Monster Clients of the Deep | Marketing
"Hi Aaron, I work with salespeople and this advice could easily be for them. Too often, we can be guilty of putting our eggs in one basket so to speak as the risk of ignoring our bread and butter sales and customers. Great post! thanks for sharing."8 Reasons it makes CENTS to give your content away | Marketing
"Hi Sarah, great points! and you are absolutely right. Giving your content for free is often something that people need to first get over in their head but as you point out is ultimately about increasing your bottom line. Kind Regards, Niall "Brand or Banned: What Is Your Brand Really Saying? | Marketing
"I think listening to online conversations has now become a very critical piece of the brand building and managing exercise. Some companies are very good at it and some unfortunately are very bad. Not so long ago, I was at a meeting with a big European telco and they had no idea what so ever as to conversations taking place about them online. It was amazing how clueless they were. Great post! thanks for sharing"Subscribe

Managing Stress in the Workplace | Management
"Hi Catherine, wonderful and very important reminder to us all. I have to admit I was guilty of very bad work/life management prior to Xmas and it was starting to take a toll. I am glad to report that it is something I now have under control and am feeling all the better (& more effective) for it. Thanks so much for the great tips. UP TIPP! Cheers, Niall"
