I think the poster boy for #1 is Richard Jewel - the initial suspect in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing. He was "suspiciously" 1st at the scene helping people (doing his job as a security guard). And, he was "caught" having duct tape & some plumbing pipes in his dwelling, making him the FBI's prime suspect.
For #2 I will add that I won't believe any reviews at all (good or bad) until only verified customers are able to leave them.
