We use social media for many different reasons to help our business, but there are some who get into social media for the wrong reasons. They’re not there to engage, provide solutions (without spamming and being annoying) or to connect with people who have the same interest as them. Instead they are there to save their brand because it is under fire from disappointed customers and they are looking to have social media solve that problem, but maybe before they look to social media as their savior they should consider a few things.

Great points, Jason! Maybe with local search becoming more known, the bait-and-switch brick & mortar businesses might get burned by bad comments they don't even see - 'cause they're not looking!
