Hi Chris,

My understanding is that people who've never dealt w/the business in question can leave fraudulent glowing or awful reviews, and that it's up to the business to then contact Yelp to correct the situation. I'd say the solution should be that only Customers should be Able to review businesses!

The unfortunately part about having an open system is that it's open for abuse.

I see this on Google Places a lot too.

This is why people should be checking their listings on a regular basis to make sure that the comments are legit.

Have you seen alternatives to Yelp on other markets? I wonder if you could an alternative to Yelp in Europe. Do you know if they have plans to enter the European market? I like how they use location-based technology in order to validate the review in a good way.

Hey Lyceum,

I don't know about the alternates in Europe. I sometimes suffer the same fate as I am in Canada. I can't list a business on Bing here yet you can in the US.

I sniff a business if there isn't anything like Yelp in Europe.
