Your packaging is the outer layer of your brand. The first touch point you have with your market. Are your customers anxious to unwrap you?

Jackie,

I wrap my business in weirdness, quirkiness, humor, the ethereal, the psychadelic and just a bit of business stuff. Though not recommended for most, it seems to be working for this writer.

Excellent post on a very important topic!

Hi Jackie,

Good article. I would add that like packaging of a product it is a combination of a number of factors and one is to make sure you stand out. For example if you go into a supermarket in any section, you can see block shelf displays of the market leaders and invatiably the own their colours, shapes, logo design etc. Other try and copy them. In some other sections they all blend in together.

I see this quite often on the web with sites becoming more similar than differentiated. For example red and black is popular and a certain logo circle style.

Thanks Susan,

Nice to connect with you here. I agree. Given the low barriers to entry particularly on the internet, we are bound to see piggybacking occuring. Its the free thinkers not afraid to embrace something different that will stay ahead of the noise and be the brand leaders of the future.

Jackie
