I think all the self-help books have a fundamental flaw. Most ask people to look in the wrong direction for success. In fact, they may even have us looking in a dangerous direction.

How often have you heard:

“Look deep inside,” “Start with the Man in the Mirror,” “Look to yourself.”

Interesting. I don't disagree with the importance of being honest about yourself and your motivations. I'm not sure I subscribe to the Ayn Rand brand of objectivism though. I'm not familiar with the details (although I have heard the term referenced before) of the "trader's principle.

Well...off to learn more about that. Lyceum, you're always a good conversation. I always learn something. Thanks for the comment!

Bill:

Thanks for your reply. Ayn Rand's bestseller novel, Atlas Shrugged, was recently discussed at John Stossel's TV show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QmAzEsrtyo

Bill: As a student of a rational philosophy, I say that you have to start with yourself. That's why my blog is named after the word I in Latin, EGO. I believe that we should understand the voluntary exchange between two individuals. It is called the trader's principle.
