Hmmm. Well, I don't think I would ever advise anyone to be boring in their business as a path to success. But then I'm not so sure I agree with the categorization of a slowly growing organic business as "boring" either. Slow and organic growth may be boring to the business owner who must grow slowly instead of with massive strides, but it seems to me customers shouldn't find your product boring. They should be passionate about what you do whether there happen to be a lot of them or not.

The "boring" may not have been best choice of word but your point is well taken! People have tendency to prefer the big bang but probably more of us grow organically.
