Just kicking back in my new pair of cargo pants watching "Footloose" on my VHS when I read your post and couldn't stop laughing. You've got a lot of great points here, of course, however, if this really were the 80's, the Internet as we know it wouldn't exist yet so we probably wouldn't be having such a pleasant conversation in exactly this way.

The funny thing is, I actually had the idea for this post whilst watching a Karate Kid re-run during a lazy afternoon last weekend. I think I also remember wanting to be able to dance like Kevin Bacon....oh dear :)
