Over at least 20 years, I drove people absolutely nuts. It was not deliberate and my intentions were only the very best. Hard work, commitment, attitude, innovation, solutions and personal passion is not an automatic indication that someone is a good leader or someone great to work with.

But more often I think "Who?" Who will be served best? Who will benefit most? Who will be excited most? That can be built into the why. But the "why" is usually related to the product and/or service - which is for the buyer/customer.

But --- it certainly takes a special leader and the there are days when the two conflict. On those days, the question will be asked: "Which is more important?" :)
