In Japan, the lunch break is Noon to 1:00pm. All work stops and everyone goes to lunch at the same time…Americans work at their desks through lunch or get their food from a drive-through window, returning calls and emails while waiting in line…

Really neat article. I find it interesting, but all of these articles seem to highlight the homogeneity of the Japanese. The more I read about them through these posts, the more I see them as a unified people, which in a way is a little off-putting. I like to think of people as totally individual, not part of a group whose actions and tastes are so readily predicted. Still, I can appreciate the differences in business and social behavior and perhaps learn from them. Strange, but interesting. Thanks for another great post!
