Most people looking for a job today understand that it is a tough market. There are more people looking for work than there is work. What many people don’t realize is that this is also an extremely taxing time for those hiring. It seems that today, companies have forgotten about proper hiring practices and this has left employers bombarded with hundreds of applicants and faced with the daunting task of having to weed through a pile of desperate resumes consisting of both under and over qualified applicants.

Great article one's gut feeling about character traits are the best guide to a good hire. However, when hiring in large numbers and very quickly this seems a very difficult thing to do. The energy and traits required for the kind of valuable conversations to understand ones traits is very hard to come by when managers are being bombarded by several priorities. Indeed, like many have mentioned, this has to start from the top but when the organization is huge and there are still pockets of 'non-believers' in such issue it's a herculean task to keep at it. thanks for sharing.
