Particularly for rapidly growing startups, Geoff, I think one issue is that some entrepreneurs have trouble making that transition from an embryonic stage of business where little management occurs simply because there are few people to manage to a place where a management layer becomes a helpful tool. Also, I think there's some fear among lean startups of recreating the kind of seemingly top heavy management teams they see as dominating larger, more slow moving competitors.
