One of the most important elements for sustained success in a business is an overall positive environment within the workplace. No employee can thrive or do really great work in an office that is constrictive, judgmental, critical or otherwise negative.

I can't agree more, however an important thing to note is that the culture of an organization, once established, is often so entrenched it's impossible to change it. It perpetuates in each employee who experiences it, and unless a complete overhaul is in some way attempted--often the overhaul of the entire organization--endeavors to change the culture often fail. Great post, though, and thanks for submitting.
