My husband and I do something VERY STRANGE when commenting. We never put a link to our website. Bad for marketing perhaps but we like to leave comments with no ulterior motive. I admire your post but we both are taking an extremely cynical view towards commenting for gain.

These are ways to quickly & efficiently get links. BUT every tip is totally self-serving - mercenary, rather than trying to become part of the community, and interact. Believe it or not, the community can easily see if all your comments are on "page one" - a sure sign you're just in it for link juice.
