QR codes, a brand of D2 codes/readers, are already very big in Asia - I've seen footage of large groups of people scanning them w/their phones in one of the blogs here maybe 2 months ago. UPS, Fed-Ex, and USPS have been using them for years - look on an old shipping box if you have any leftover. They're only beginning to crack into the newer advertising areas, but with mobile on the increase chances are they'll become entrenched (at least till something else betters it).

You're absolutely right, I defintiely shouldn't have been so vague. I know they're big in Asia, I meant here in the US.
And yup, UPS and such uses them. Again, I meant that consumers don't use QR codes so much.
Sorry about my ignorance. Thanks for the clarifications. :)
