20 Years as a Blogger

I celebrated my 20th blogiversary on May 7. Here are some stats:

- 1,633,887 page views.
- 2865 blog posts.

I will keep this blog running here on Blogger's Blogspot, but my main focus will be my "last" forthcoming site, TeaParty.Media. Wow...20 years! Congratulations.I haven't even completed 10 :) And I started directly on WordPress.

So interesting to hear about all your stories when you had to use coding to blog. Life has become much easier nowadays, I guess, with drag-and-drop builders and so many easy-to-use content management systems.

Hi Martin,

I started on BlogSpot, way back in 2005 - still not 20 years let but nearly there. I started blogging with a platform known as Yahoo GeoCities or something. They shut down their doors some time back... Had to pretty much code your way into blogging back then, but a few years later I found the blogger platform and moved onto it.

Good to know your blog turned 20, congrats :)

lol. Yes, hand-coded in HTML. It was not that fancy. Aside from HTML, I recall using a bit of PHP, which I never really learned and is long-forgotten now. But I got some help at the time and I was able to replicate as needed once the syntax was shown to me.

I had created a web directory in the same way - hand coded with html and it made some money too from paid submission :P

@Lyceum Hi Martin. I've been "blogging" before there was such a word. I was creating articles and structuring them as a blog. Ah, the wild wilderness of the early internet.
