I would add that academia is definitely considered a workplace. My professors and lecturers with beards outnumber those who don't have beards. Somehow the beards make them look even smarter than they are!

In the home countries of these populations though, the beard is looked on as a more normal extension of the body.
It is in places where people immigrate and are part of minorities, I believe, where it looks more foreign and is less accepted.
I think the premise of the video is sound though...Western boardrooms, in general, are not filled with bearded CEOs.
Also, as you might know, in Judaism, there is a period of 33 days, between the day after Passover and Lag B'Omer, when observant Jews are forbidden to shave. The only exceptions, interestingly, are employment-related such as job-interviews, speeches, conferences and meetings with others who might not understand the beard "shtick" and therefore be put off by it.
