Though you may not be located in a place in the world prone to disaster, it's always important to do small business emergency planning. This planning is likely to be generally the furthest thing from your mind when running your business. However, certainly there are at least two good reasons to prepare for the unexpected when operating your business: one, is a concern for the safety of your employees and the other is a concern for protecting your business to the best of your ability minimizing the amount of loss and the amount of time until you can get your business up and running again. What I've been thinking about is that many of these guidelines are based on good business practices.
After looking through this, I think that even small emergencies benefit from having a few established guidelines.
