The best, most well-thought out startup plans can have their pitfalls. Having a backup plan isn’t an admission your business plan is weak. Gary Vee has covered previously about when to give up on an idea and finding tasks to outsource, it’s commonsense to also create a plan of action to always have something to fall back on as Vaynerchuk points out in “Does Having a Backup Plan Make You More Likely to Fail?”
