Do you have a plan in place for responding or do you rethink your approach every time?

If not, all of your hard work marketing your business to attract clients will go to waste if you ignore the follow up process.

Stephanie: Thanks for your sharing your ideas on how to follow up a prospect. I have to become better at it. I am in the same situation as Valentine is describing: "It’s rare that someone enjoys calling up a stranger and trying to sell something to him, even if the lead is pre-qualified in any way."

I don't do cold calling. I am working with referral marketing. It takes longer time, but it is worth it in the long run...

I don't cold call either and agree that referral marketing is a great way to go. Thank you for your comment.

Great post. Here's an example, Since the invention of the telephone, small business owners have dreaded cold calls. It’s rare that someone enjoys calling up a stranger and trying to sell something to him, even if the lead is pre-qualified in any way. The more you can warm up your prospects, the less scary the process is. Warming up a lead, though, can take some planning. Thanks for sharing.
