Agreed. I think as marketers/business owners we need to accept that the onus is now more on us to generate traffic through our own efforts on platforms where we have more control.

I'm unfamiliar with either of those books. I think your idea of blogging, podcasting and an email newsletter is a good one, since you'll be building your own audience and so will be less reliant on whatever the internet giants do.
Maybe you will invite me as a guest on your podcast? Heh, heh.
