Adam: That could be the case! I think that Carollynnrivera has nailed it with the overview feature of a spreadsheet. I wonder if a mindmap or a Workflowy document would work?

I'm a scheduling junkie so I love to see what other people are doing. I don't usually track links in my posts but that's a great idea. As for spreadsheet... I think it's just the grid format that works so well. You can get an at-a-glance view as opposed to something like a real "calendar" where you may have to click on each day to get more detail.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with the grid format thing :) I like to see things from a birds eye view I guess.

Yes, I agree. But I wonder why the market place hasn't been filled with new alternatives...

Good point - maybe we've found a gap in the market!

I know there are WordPress plugins that suit this type of thing but there's nothing really ground breaking at all.

Adam: I will test this editorial calendar. I wonder why the spreadsheet format still is the best way for doing this kind of task. Wasn't the original purpose formulas, calculations and figures, not words, texts and instructions?

You're right, it was for formula and calculations but no matter which tools I try or other document formats, spreadsheets still come out on top - I'm sure Eileen, the post author would agree too.

Above all else, it's whatever works!
