Organizations are increasingly engaging, on some level, in corporate social responsibility and sustainability activities that address a wide range of workplace issues. Although such initiatives often are driven by business priorities, they also may be undertaken in response to external influencers such as customers, employees, shareholders, and other stakeholders. Mercer explored these issues in its 2013 Survey on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Policies & Practices, conducted among 82 leading organizations worldwide.
