Between 2008 and 2010 many business owners faced a task they had never previously dealt with; reducing staff. There are few things that impact the culture of a company more than layoffs.
Small business got "lean" during the recession by reducing head count. To get even more competitive, they will have to do more with employees that remain. The businesses that succeed will have to focus on retaining good employees.
