I love this article. I have been saying this for the longest, first impression last the longest. A person can look at your appearance and tell immediately the kind of characteristics you have and your personality. You dress to impress so a person could see you in a positive light. One that transmits organization, you are a professional and easy to work with. Now, go on in an unpolished shoes, wrinkled jacket, crumple blouse and with your hem hanging. The impression you radiate is one of being unprepared, unorganized, lazy and hard to work with.

So, if you find yourself with these and not knowing how to change, hire a professional image consultant. They can help bring your appearance up to speed and any other image short comings you may have. If you cannot afford one ask a friend who has a great sense of style to assist you. After all, first impression last the longest.

Spot on! I totally agree with you, and the point about hiring someone (or asking a friend) to help you with your image is a very good one.

Appearances are everything, and the reality is that people judge each other based on appearances, especially in a professional environment.
