Time management is important to you because you are NOT paid for the amount of work you do, nor the amount of time you spend, but rather, for the VALUE you can put into the work you do
If you can ADD MORE VALUE in the same amount of time, then you improve your effectiveness and you will, eventually, be paid accordingly.
If you spend too much time in time-wasting activities then you will never be able to progress to the place you really want to be.
Time management is about not wasting your time, money or effort.
Time management is about making the best use, the most valuable use of your time, money and effort.

I couldn't agree more that there is a difference between productive and busy work. This said, I have always taken issue with the idea that there is an optimum method for accomplishing any task. While this may be the case for certain standard operations like bookkeeping etc. it certainly isn't for procedures that may be unique to your business. If there is a special procedure you use to create unique online content, products, services or anything else, you won't be doing so using the same method your competitors do. The standard procedure everyone else uses for creating a product just isn't good enough for my business. That's why I got into the business in the first place. Because I think there's a better way.

and you are trying to find it.
I suggest that there must be a "best way" to do any task. and that best way is context related and will vary over time, as conditions change. the best way is not "standard procedure".
