Great question! Well, the decision about how one should do business is always about several factors, such as finance and project scale.

There is one popular KPI for HR - "Cost to hire". In a case of freelancers it includes not only your time to find freelancer, but resources that you have used to test freelancer and teach him or her.

Answering your question. Well, there were times when I was telling myself "I wish I could work with this guy for a long time, he did a great job for me!". Unfortunately, it happens.

My recommendation in this case would be to keep in touch with a freelancer (like his page in Facebook to stay informed), recommend his service to some of your friends (you won't be paid for this, but you will have a positive "Karma").

Hi Aleksey,

Some very good points here. My question is whether there are times when because of price and availability short-term relationships with multiple freelancers are the right way to go for a business?
