Tim Ferris talked about this perfectly in his 4-Hour Work Week book. When he had a supplements business, he empowered his employees to give refunds, without checking with management, for up to $300 (I think, I'm quoting this from memory). He said that it made his life significantly better, and reduced the amount of silly disputes that his attention was being drawn to.
Obviously, you as the business owner needs to determine your level of trust, but I think even a little bit will help your sanity.
