I had been working side by side with another person for approximately seven years. He is currently 66 and I am 34. It truly seemed to be a mutually beneficial match for each of us, and I believe that to this day, he would agree with this statement. But when it was time for the rubber to hit the road and to start building the framework for a future transition, the wheels fell off quickly. I knew that many who leave a job to create their own business do so for reasons far more important than financial concerns. I just didn’t realize I fit in that category quite as comfortably as I do.
