Cindy,

Hungarian is belonging to the same language group as Finnish and Estonian. The thing is that they don't really understand each other! ;) You will find some similarities in numbers and some words, but overall they are very different to each other.

For your information, I spent three months in Sopron, Hungary, doing a school project for a manufacturing company. I enjoyed my time in Hungary, but I must say that Hungarian is probably one of the most difficult languages. I had to brush up on my German and I tried to teach some English to members of the older generation. I learned a few phrases and words in Hungarian. Mind you, no "dirty" words... ;)

Cute video! When I think of a difficult "European" language I usually think of Finnish, because their grammar is apparently extremely complicated. It's true I never think of the East European languages.

Great video. When I first moved to France I had a similar phrase book. All of the phrases were correct, they were just translated in the most rude style possible.
