As a literary writer myself, I know of a thing called "Writer's High." Endorphins similar to opiates are released from the brain. It's a high!
On blog-vacation now, after only 24 hours, I feel like a "Skid-Row" addict craving the next bottle of cheap wine...

There are probably worse things in the world. You're right. The complaint I hear most often from those doing business online is the need to always be connected, be mobile online and answering e-mails, monitoring Twitter, etc. Hate to add to your reading list, but one book that touches on this is "The 4-Hour Workweek" by Tim Ferriss, in which Tim suggests productivity can be improved, and I suspect, your mental health as well, by simply limiting the number of times you look at e-mail. Many online professionals practice regular disconnection to stay healthy. So, your blogging vacation could be a great idea.

Thanks for the response. I finally got word from Amazon, the book was returned "undeliverable." No worry, Rivkah will be in The States for the next two weeks and will pick up the books you have recommended. In any case, due to severe withdrawal symptoms I am canelling my blog vacation; I have reserve duty in October...that will be a good time to break.
All the best,
Yoni

Great post dealing with the great things that writing provides and how hard it is to stop. Glad I stopped by to visit you or I would have had no idea you were posting. I thought two weeks meant two weeks, not 24 hours ;) Ofira from JobShuk

There seems to be a bit of a drug theme going on. Really glad you enjoy blogging however taking a break actually makes sense. Even athletes take a rest and recharge. Why not just jot down your ideas for 30 minutes if you have to and enjoy your holiday.
BTW what is your twitter handle?

Thank you so much for your reply! I'm actually walking around with old-fashioned pencil and paper and jotting down my ideas for August.
All the best,
Yoni
