Unless you have all the clients you could possibly want right now you've probably heard you should be online marketing. That's all well and good but how do you know if you're doing the right thing or if what you are doing is actually benefiting your business in some way? As I meet more and more business owners in and around the area I hear a lot of chatter about frustrations and confusion regarding what to measure and keep track of online. The most frequent statement I get is, "I'm doing all of this online marketing but I'm not seeing an increase in sales." Here's a tip - sales is not the end-all, be-all measure of whether or not your online marketing efforts are working.

I can see where it would be hard to determine (w/o just asking) whether a walk-in customer found your business online. That would tend to throw off the metric.
