With internet marketing and social media growing at an exceptionally high speed marketers have to work harder to make themselves count. There are so many channels these days and to keep yourself up to date, and solidify your place on these channels, you have to move fast. However, how do we do keep up with all of these methods? Well first we have to be aware with everything that’s going on right now and more important what is going to happen?

I think what we've learned from social media in particular is it's important to be across as many channels as possible. With the mass expansion of media channels comes audience fragmentation, so it's about not just being on one channel but potentially all the channels your target audience is consuming media on. Of course, depending on how niche your market is (and your resources) it may make sense to eliminate focusing on channels that are not targeted or readily used by your targets.

Amen. More channels mean more work to get noticed. But remember, you may also only need to market to your niche. Do you really need to be everything for everyone or can you simply matter to those who care about what you do?
