I get it, trends come and go. But, all of these tactics mentioned still serve a purpose if used correctly. Yes, QR Codes can be used effectively.

Here’s the problem. A small business owner doesn’t have the daily insight that experts do. Why? Experts study marketing trends daily. They know what works and continually see good tools used poorly.

Hi Jon,

The Star Trek reference is, of course, priceless. But I think, to your point, there's also the issue of what's right to reach your customers, isn't there? I mean, newspaper advertising may not be trending, for example, but if you happen to know your entire customer base reads newspapers exclusively and doesn't use the computer, that's what you go with. Trends are fine, but actually reaching your customers is the most important thing.
