Hi Rachel,

I'm not sure podcasting ever really disappeared. I know plenty who still use it. But I would agree it has been upstaged by YouTube and, I guess, video in general. I've seen a couple of people with online "shows" offer an audio or video version of the program to pick from. I guess it's an obvious choice and allows them to re-purpose content in as many forms as possible.

Great post. I have no data to back up this thought. There are no statistics to quantify my thinking, but it feels like podcasting is about to turn a corner. There are a handful of podcasts that are acting as a key leading indicator that consumers have an appetite for longer, in-depth and content rich audio programming. Thanks for sharing.
