I use outbrain for my blog and I hope that it helps me generate some traffic. I agree with you about not wanting to rely just on the seo for traffic. I never quite mastered seo myself. It was something that I was still trying to learn. I do believe also that it's just easier to focus on making quality content because if you do that people will come to your site. This is a great post! I see these widgets all the time and never thought about the traffic that they are generating.

What I really like about this approach to generating traffic is that the focus is on creating quality content AND paying attention to what your audience responds to. Combined with the reach involved, this is a very powerful combination.
