Early reports indicate that of the 20 million Google+ users, somewhere between 70-85% are male and 60% identify themselves as software engineers or web developers. As Mashable so eloquently pointed out in recent article, that data “…paints a fairly stereotypical picture of Google+’s userbase: nerdy guys who have deep understandings of technology and who don’t mind killing some time setting up Circles of friends.” This isn’t too much of a surprise, considering that Google+ is still in beta and is by invitation only. Early adopters were quick to hunt around for a Google+ invite, then quickly turnaround and invite their early adopting friends.
