Blogging for business and blogging for fun are two different things. This is an important concept that needs to be understood before developing an inbound marketing strategy that will include blogging. While a blog is a less formal way to market than say, a white paper, a business blogger needs to realize that it represents how the brand is viewed by a target audience.

Nick,

I used to think the same way. Think. Conceptualize. Write. Proof. Post. Twitter. Tweet. Upload to Social Media sites. Two days later...repeat cycle.

Next week, repeat cycle...

I watched my viewcount go, in the span of 18 months and 180 posts, from 10,000 to 30 to 75 to 150, and finally almost 250,000 thousand.

Then a funny thing happened: I completely and utterly burned out, perhaps a strange outcome for someone who is a professional and literary writer. One day it hit me like a ton of bricks...I don't want to do it anymore.

Now it is only a hobby and I will probably post once a month...if I feel like it.

The business is going fine, without a blog, something that I thought might be impossible. It seems as that the archive of posts I have created is still driving potential customers to me.
