Much depends on the newbie's background. If it's a brand/business: it would be that affiliate marketing is not just about coupons, but that it can truly be one a great way to complement ALL other marketing channels. If it's someone from within the online marketing industry: that/how affiliate marketing is not a "marketing channel" (and doesn't compete with PPC, social, etc). Much really depends on who the "newbie" is.
