After almost three years of launching Google+, Google has now announced that it lifts restrictions on the usernames. Earlier when you had to create a Google+ account you have to use your real name. Google+ had the so-called “real name policy” where pseudo-names were not allowed for Google+ profiles.

I guess there's no big difference in terms of spamming. I mean, they never checked whether the names were real or not ;-) Anyway, a spammer is a spammer irrespective of the type of name she or he used - fake or real.

For example, let's say that I use pen names... Is that important? I don't think so. What I do is important ;-) If I spam, who cares whether the name is real or not? I'm still a spammer. If I produce great content and I brand a pen name, who cares? :)

I guess you don't remember Mark Twain's real name, do you? :)
