It takes a hundred posts to make you, and one post to break you. Your credibility as a blogger, that is. Make one memorable mistake in posting, and that's what people will remember, no matter how many posts you have that are well-thought out and correct. Even something as simple as an innocent Tweet which is incorrect or even worse, leads a follower into a den of spammers can damage your online street cred and it takes a long time to regain it. Make a bad enough mistake, and you may never get your cred back.

I often wrestle with voting on some of the articles here on BizSugar - the information might seem really good, but since I know so little about business & computers, I have no way of knowing what's really what. Sometimes I vote, other times, not - depending on how I feel at the time. As unimportant as a few votes are here & there, it still gives me pause to think. (As one of the moderators here, my face & name are all over the place - I'm identified with all of this, even things I don't approve of.)
