As a blogger, you know there are plenty of good reasons to self-publish a book that go beyond earning royalties. You also know all the benefits of self-publishing vs. traditional publishing.

Think you’re ready to write, upload, and start selling?

Hold on just a minute! It pays to plan these things out a bit first.

Though self-publishing can be much easier and faster than traditional publishing, that doesn’t mean that jumping right in is the best way to go about it.

If you’re careful with your budget and planning, your book can look just as professional and be just as successful (if not more) than if you went the traditional route.

In this post in our self-publishing series, we’ll cover how long it takes to self-publish a book, and how much it costs. With this info in hand, you can plan for success.

Erik: Thanks for sharing the second part of the self-publishing blog post series. I have to figure out phase 3 with the design and formatting of my first forthcoming book on tea. John Cox has already illustrated a cover (work in process) as a fine artist. The challenge for me is to learn to put my text material and John Cox's illustration together. I am planning to use the service (CreateSpace) mentioned in the post.

All the Best,

Martin
