As the franchise coach for a number of clients I work with them to prepare a buying a franchise checklist. Included within the checklist is the review and analysis of franchise prices. Some clients seem to think that once they pay the franchise fee then they are clear to start getting a return on their investment. But as many know, the franchise fee is only one element to the franchise price analysis.

Very informative post there Warren.

I have coached many business potentials and they always look at Franchising as an option. It begins as what they can often perceive as the "easy" option until they do the Math and realise it's not just a bit of money up front and a bit of commission/royalty payout, so it's good to see here a detailed overview, in plain speak, and black and white

Thanks Elaine. For me its about choices, and for someone interested in franchising the more accurate information that you provide them, the more informed will be their decision - whether to franchise or not.

Great overview of the price analysis for franchises, Warren! I think often those interested in franchises don't think through all the possible ramifications that taking on a franchise can entail. Thanks for breaking it down for all of us here.

You're welcome Heather. Many will also underestimate the time involved in performing an effective due diligence and franchise investigation process.
