How to use testimonials to grow your business
"Hi Andreea. I think it'd help believability if you said "so-and-so is a verified purchaser of ___" above the testimonial (like Amazon). If I don't see that, I don't believe positive or negative reviews - I assume the chances are too high that the review is bogus. "Hi Paula. In NE Ohio, I've yet to see a store brand that cost as much as the brand item, more-so with generics, which are the cheapest, but don't carry the store brand. Interesting point about the store brand eclipsing the brand itself, or the store switching suppliers. Duncan"How Do I Find My Ideal Clients?
"Excellent, Mairead! I think a big mistake many business owners make is assuming their clientele fit into the same demographic as them - that they got into business based partly on passion, and didn't realize many of their potential customers may be nothing like they are. Duncan"Subscribe

Are Business Women More Receptive to Helping Each Other Online
"Hi Sherryl. Generally, women are better at giving emotional support (not all women, obviously - like those you describe as deliberately tearing down their female competition in order to raise themselves). The last 3 months, RTV has been showing "Starsky & Hutch" reruns - from the mid-late '70's**, when men were briefly supposed to be sensitive, to cry at the drop of a hat, etc. The more they go through the series, the more laughable it gets (not to mention the music & clothes). (If you haven't seen it in decades, it's a howl on those grounds alone - it's on in the background as I'm typing this.) Women soon tired of the "fem-man", and decided they'd rather have Benito Mussolini. Duncan **I might add that this phenom is nowhere near as apparent in other '70's shows as it was in Starsky & Hutch - I've recently seen reruns of Rockford, Kojak, etc, but they're nothing in comparison for the sensitive man bit. I remember it from being in my 20's at the time, but seeing it played to the hilt on a then-contemporary TV show is quite funny now. It seems like either star may be about to cry at any moment. "
