Taking the custom made business route makes more “business sense” simply because as very nearly the “only” or “one of the few” suppliers of a one of a kind product/service you will have little/no competition. Having said that why should a customer want a customized product when he has a mind boggling variety of standardized products and services to choose from?
Let me break it to you…simply because “Standardized” is Passé and “Customized” is in and here’s why…

I'm sure there is a market for one-offs that isn't based on wanting something because no one else has it, but based on a particular need that isn't met by similar mass-produced items.
