Great post. I would agree that quality content on your site should always be the top priority. However, a distinction should be made here between poor quality articles on other sites and high quality content. This is what distinguishes simple spammy articles meant to create inbound links for traffic and rank and high quality content like unique guest posting or interviews on someone else's site which add value and can enhance both your brand and online footprint.
