Hey! Small Businesses no one uses the Print Yellow Pages anymore get in the Local SEO game

This post is dedicated to the local small businesses that continue to invest waste money in their local print yellow pages. I still get the yellow page books and yes instead of adding them to my handy blue recycle bin immediately from the end of the driveway I actually keep them.

Thanks for your comment Businessavante. I agree with you in certain cases and areas as I mentioned in the article there is some yellow page usage but the trend of usage is diminishing and going in a bad direction. I think more and more with mobile and even search there is a big opportunity for local business to get more exposure and in a more cost effective manor.

I agree that businesses definitely need to be online, but I DO use the phone book for local listings. I don't need to see reviews & maps if it's in my own backyard because local "word of mouth" is literal, not virtual. If they're not in the book, I won't know they exist, and I'm not about to look online for businesses around the corner - just for what used to be "mail order" businesses. Maybe I'm a dinosaur (here's your cue weigh in, Entrepreneurasaurus).
