On the surface, Google's latest big algorithm change seems great. But when you dig deeper, you see that there are too many scary questions -- and not enough answers.

Nicole,

Internet piracy seems to be an ongoing issue especially important to small business. While, in theory, small businesses that create any kind of information product should benefit from intellectual property protection, the danger of over aggressive or even fraudulent infringement claims is always looming.

Nicole,

From ACTA to SOPA to PIPA, there have been plenty of attempts on the government level to deal with piracy, but the problem, of course, is the same. How do we separate legitimate claims of infringement from some who may make claims irresponsibly or with ulterior motives? And what recourse do those falsely accused of infringement have for clearing themselves?

You're so right, Heather! There's no one that wants to see content thieves punished any more than I do -- but, if there's any chance that the "good guys" will get caught in the crossfire, I'm concerned. By leaving so many questions unanswered, Google's going to cause alot of stress and anxiety for alot of website owners who don't deserve it.
