Lately I’ve been working with clients on automating their marketing tasks, specifically their emails. The more I work in this channel, the more I realize how wide-open a frontier - with a huge upside - it is for cross-channel merchants.

Interesting tools, Jim. I think many people use this kind of technology but maybe not to the extent it could be used. I do sometimes wonder, however, even with acquired prospects who have presumably given their permission in some way to be sent regular marketing e-mails, whether there is ever any negative reaction to being on an automated e-mail list. I personally find myself deleting the majority of these things even after I've signed up to receive them. What I DON'T find myself deleting is regular e-mails that contain valuable info related to a product, field or industry rather than a sales offer. For instance regular e-mails I get from a blogging coach who sends out info and tips on blogging as a way of trying to entice me to sign up for a course. Am I alone on this one?
