Hi Denise, This article focused more on marketing services that drive traffic to your blog or site, whereas affiliate links are meant to monetize that traffic. Affiliate linking is a viable way to monetize your content if it is of sufficient quality and relevance to the products being sold. Of course, you then need to get your content in front of eyeballs, which means you're back to marketing :)"
Thx BizRock... Glad u enjoyed it. There was an interesting post on my blog about that article: "David, excellent analysis. The problem I always run into though is quantifying exactly how much revenue a single visitor generates. While I can aggregate my total views and unique visitors across a time period and then simply divide revenue evenly, I'd really like to be able to drill down and attribute specific CPA conversions and CPC to a single user. Do you have any favorite tracking tools for this sort of thing (other than GA)? " Think I'll have to follow up on it when I have a moment."
Yep. During the course of writing that article, I actually discovered a whole swathe of really cool business productivity tools and gadgets. Looks like that article is going to turn into a series of articles to cover them all :)"
Hi Yoni, I don't mean $6000 a month to blog at all - that's not what the article is about. It's more about finding synergy by creating content that benefits you inderectly by enhancing reputation and reach. I submitted several links in the article. The one that speaks directly to the "$6000 a month" salary comes from the writers compensation guide supplied by About.com - here it is again: http://beaguide.about.com/gdcomp.htm You are welcome to dispute that figure with them."
